Janet Macunovich will be the speaker at our meeting on November 8, offering solutions to common gardening dilemmas with her presentation titled “The Challenging Garden.”
Some places in the yard are a gardening headache. It can be hard for plants to thrive under trees, in dry soil, in overly wet soil, in hard-packed ground, in long narrow spaces and against walls. Here’s your chance to gather ideas for what to plant, how to make it grow, and how to care for plants in such challenging places.
Author of several books on gardening, including “Easy Landscape Design,” “Easy Garden Design” and “Caring for Perennials,” Janet Macunovich owns a landscape design company called Perennial Favorites. She teaches classes in garden design and maintenance, writes a weekly column for the Detroit News and also shares her knowledge via radio programs.
Brighton Garden Club meets at 10:30 a.m. the second Thursday of every month September through June.
